The establishment of the activities of the company is dated from 1983 when the company was involved in trading in Fertilizers and Chemicals.

A turning point in the development and future shape of AFCO was the co-operation in 1985 with HELM AG, a global marketing leader in the Chemicals Industry. The business relationship with HELM AG still continues and has proven a success story for the Greek market.

Throughout the 1990s the company has changed from a pure trading company to a marketing organization taking a long-term view of the market requirements and the functions that are creating value for its partners.
